April 17 was our first hands-on “From the Ground Up” presentation at the library. Approximately 15 people attended and we had excellent feedback from them. On their evaluation forms half of the attendees noted that they especially liked the expert Powerpoint program and planning tips (thanks to Cindy Tesar, Debbie Rupp, and Barbara Gelman) while the other half appreciated getting to be outside and see the ideas in action (thanks, Judy Lambert and Ray Ostolski). The “live” part of the program generated more questions than we usually have, an encouraging sign that the garden will provide excellent teaching opportunities.
People also commented that they wanted to learn more about perennials for shade and vegetable gardening.
We are generating an attendee email list for future program notifications.
